I remember standing in the kitchen wondering why this new "healthy" diet wasn't working. I was drinking the green juice, cut out gluten, and I wasn't having dairy (or so I thought.)
But as I was standing there drinking my freshly made green juice, I was still painfully bloated. I was tired all the time and I just didn't feel good. What was I doing wrong? It was annoying. It was frustrating.
When I started seeing a Functional Nutrition Practitioner, my whole perspective on food started to change. First of all, food is not a one size fits all. Second, even "healthy" foods can leave you feeling bad if not prepared correctly or eaten with the wrong foods.
It was a lot to process. But my biggest takeaway and something I will always preach is that your body is unique and therefore will respond to foods differently.
You deserve to feel good. You deserve to have the energy to play with your kids AND take care of you.
Nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. There are no counting calories or tracking macros in this program. This is about tuning into how your body FEELS.
It's being mindful of how you feel before, during, and after a meal. It's about building a positive, trusting relationship with your body and the food you're eating.
